We Need Each Other (The Power of Prayer)

When do we pray? The bible says we should pray always. ("Rejoice always, pray without ceasing..." Thess. 5:16) But how many of us actually practice this? Are we prepared for the storms of life? When disaster comes many of us get into prayer mode. This especially happens when someone close to us or ourselves is in a life threatening position. When these storms pass do we then praise God and continue to pray? The storm may be the very thing that God uses to get us into relationship with Him. He knows the more we spend time with Him, the more we become like Him. This ensures us to be prepared for the next struggle. The faith we will build up because we have a relationship gives us the peace that surpasses all understanding ("And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phi. 4:7)

When we do not have that closeness and we feel emptiness that can lead to fear because of lack of belief. There is no confidence in fear, but perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). Who is love? God is love (1 John 4:8), so God cast out fear. Those of us that have a great relationship with a doctor or get a referral from someone we trust, the fear or anxiety goes away and we put our faith in that doctor. So wouldn't it make more sense to first go to our Creator and then call the doctor? (It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. Psalm 118:8)
We must believe God is the master Healer and that He wants you well. Again the more you know Him the more you will trust Him (Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding... Proverbs 3:5) and the more you will run to Him, this is when He can work on your petitions. We all have this responsibility, so we can be ready for each other.

There will be times when I will need to pray for you, and there will be times you will need to pray for me. I don’t know about you, but I would be really confident knowing that I had a support team around me that believed their prayers would be answered. That is why I know I am here today, because of many of your prayers and the relationship you have with the Lord. Those prayers had power and through God inspired the doctor to come up with the procedure which saved my life ("Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24) I am working harder each week to be ready for you. Be ready always, keep praying, you never know when the next surprise storm is coming. We need each other! Pray! Pray! Pray!

"Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." Matthew 18:19

God bless!
