Friends are one of Gods most precious gifts. As you move through life we gather many friends- some who we spend quality time with, some that we interact with on a daily basis, others we talk too occasionally. But if they are truly friends, we bring each other joy “A friend loves at all times…” (John 17:17).
God brings these individuals in our life to show us a glimpse of His love and how He feels about us. We share our time over coffee, ball games, vacations, shopping, and church together. We share our experiences, common knowledge, and wisdom with each other to help us through the journey of life “… I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15)
Many of these friends we eventually grow to love and at times puts us in a position where we can we become vulnerable and get hurt , then other friends come along and help us mend that hurt and that relationship. We share joy, love, victories, sadness, anger, frustrations, accomplishments, and develop bonds that at times we feel we would die for… “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends” (John 15:13)
Jesus called us friends and He did lay down His life for us- He truly did! As we long to spend time with those friends that we love, Jesus is longing to spend time with us. He did everything and anything we can ask for in a friend. Take time right now to spend some time with Him, your Friend.
Have a blessed conversation!
