Secure in the Father's Hands

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

John 10:27-29

As I was spending time with the Lord, these verses stuck out to me. As I began to dwell and meditate on this truth, I was so deeply encouraged- that no one, nothing, not one thing, can snatch us out of the Father’s hand.

Do you believe that?

Sometimes life throws a lot at us. Instead of feeling safe and secure we feel as though we are falling apart. We have a sense of vulnerability instead of security, even while choosing to follow God.

But, this is not what God wants for His children. He wants His truth and word to trump our feelings. He wants us to be firm on the Rock of ages who is Jesus. He wants to believe in our heart and mind that He really is greater than anything this world can do to us.

The greatest thing this world can do to us is kill us. But even Jesus Christ has conquered death. He has conquered everything thru His death and resurrection. He is the Resurrection and the Life. In Him, we are secure for eternity.

This kind of hope should change how we live today.

Are you living in victory and confidence knowing that God has a plan for every detail of your life, including the pain and hard trials? Are you living your life like you are secure forever?

Or are you living in fear and worry?

If you are living in fear and worry, please know God wants to set you free from that! As believers, the same spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives in you! That reality has the ability to strengthen and empower us to walk in confidence and victory, one that comes from the Spirit of God that is working inside of us.

If you know you are not living a secure life that’s rooted in your relationship with Jesus, then choose to open your heart today. If the enemy has a foothold in your life in some way, then in some way you are not submitting to God. The word says, “Submit to God, resist the devil, and he WILL flee from you…” That is a promise. As we surrender all we are to Jesus, the enemy has to flee. As we live for Christ, the enemy will lose His power in your life.

Make a choice today to surrender all you are to Jesus. Christians are called to live a surrendered lifestyle, not holding anything back from Jesus. We are called to say ‘yes’, even before we know what He is going to ask us to do. It may be scary to do in the moment, but once you relinquish all control, you will discover God’s love in a whole new way. Lay down your life. Allow Him to work in your heart. Crucify the flesh and all its desires so Christ can work thru you in a mighty way. Listen for the voice of the Father, follow, and obey. As you do this, He will lead you to exactly what your heart is searching for- rest, peace and purpose that is found when He holds us in His hands.

God bless you,
